job commutes

How much time would you ideally like to give to your office commute? At what point, does the loss of time to simply start work or get home outweigh the benefits/salary of a job?

I think 20 mins on one side would be ideal. If I would like to stretch that then it shouldn't be more than 30 mins for me. I deeply concern myself with my personal and family time for my day to feel fulfilling. Spending more time on the road robs me of that much-needed window in my routine and that's when the benefits of the job would start to crumble.
